We invite experienced hikers to participate on walks in Eastern Hajer
A) Day 1: A’Shab – Al Ghamb

OMC has arranged a local guide to guide for both hicks for safety precautions as he knows the area well, therefore will be some guides fees 40 OMR, the cost will be shared by the group
Please feel free to ask him questions about the area, sometime translation will be required, Organizer will be around if needed.

*Walk overview:* Day 1

Eastern Hajer – A’Shab – Al Ghamb:
There are several routes to Al Ghamb; we will be taking the route from A’Shab up the ridge.
It is a longer walk, open to the full glare of sun but gives excellent views of the coast.

Will camp overnight at Al Ghamb village
*Start (Meeting Point):* Wadi Shab, parking area
*Start Time: 7:20 hrs

*Walk overview:* Day 2

Eastern Hajer – Al Ghamb – Wadi Shab
There are 2 routes to Wadi Shab one through the Wadi (Human path) and other on the ridge (Donkey path). We will be walking on donkey path, better for us! Wink

Be prepared for a swim at Wadi Shab pools...!

*Start (Meeting Point):* sleeping area at Al Ghamb
*Start Time: 7:30 hrs

*Walking times:*
A’Shab – Al Ghamb 7 – 8 hrs
app: 10km
Altitude: around 1300m
Al Ghamb – Wadi Shab 5-6 hrs
app. 6km
*GRADE 1*

Things you need for 2 Days:
Bring enough of water, Food & sleeping gear in a rucksack.
Important will be your shoes, proper mountain boots to protect you ankle as you will be carrying weight.

Tips on hiking boots:
Not all boots are suitable for hiking. Some walking boots have neither a decent toe counter nor heel counter and are so soft that they give little ankle support. Avoid models that don't go above the ankle bone. They can quickly be uncomfortable and can lead to a strained ankle!

Hi,

Bill and I with several friends did the A'Shab to Al Ghamb walk just last weekend. It's a fantastic walk and I highly recommend it. We measured the distance one way at around 15 kilometers and the highest elevation at around 815 meters. Al Ghamb itself is about 800 meters. The walk time of 7-8 hours listed seems reasonable. It took us 6 and a half hours, but we were a small goup and didn't stop very often. Also we started our walk from the water reservoir above Wadi Shab which saved us about 70 meters of nasty ascent.
