G`day all,

As a part of the Middle East Long Distance Series of races we are running this winter we will be running a race in Muscat on Friday 6th Feb.

It will start from near the Oman Dive Centre and finish on Al Sifah Beach where we will camp after the race.

Start time approx 1300

If you are interested in paddling or trying a Surf Ski you are more than welcome to come along and try one out.

If you want to join us paddling what ever craft you have you are also more than welcome, you will not be apart of the race but you are welcome to come along for the ride.

Course distance will be approx 25kms.

Check out http://www.dskc.net/events_detail.asp?NID=31 for more details.

Brad Holliday who is a keen Surf Ski paddler in Muscat will be running the race. If you want to find out more details about the race or Surf Ski`s in general contact me and I will pass on Brads details.

Just a bit of an update, the race next weekend will start at approx 1330 from Jissar Beach.

We will be camping on Al Sifah Beach that night so if anyone wants to check out surf ski`s and have a paddle you are more than welcome prior to the race or after where we camp at Al Sifah.

Start point 23 33.132'N 58 38.583'E
Finsih/camp 23 23.626'N 58 48.306'E

If the wind is not favourable for a down wind race we will complete a local course both starting and finishing from Jissar Beach, then heading down to Al Sifah to camp.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the invitation, I paddled this morning but I don't think i am fit enough for the 25km race, so I'll come in tourist mode.

See you in there, the Mako 6 is still in good condition and it's a very nice boat to paddle.

Cheers
Thomas

Tomz, good to to hear from you mate.

With the current wind prediction it looks as though we will be paddling the local course both starting and finishing on the same beach. It will only be 18km, so come along for a paddle.

Not everyone going down there will be a race horse, they will just be out of a good paddle.

Hope to see you there with or without paddle in hand.

Bring your ski just incase you change your mind.
