|[b]WAR DANCE will be playing tomorrow evening at the American British Academy from 7-9pm for FREE!!!
For the past twenty years northern Uganda has been at war with a rebel forces, the Lordís Resistance Army, and the countryís children have been the greatest victims of the conflict. But here the children are not only the victims of the rebels; they become the rebels by means of abduction. Children-some as young as five-are ripped from their beds in front of their helpless parents.
After two decades there is little sign of peace. However being heard are childrenís voices-singing strong, without fear. Their bodies shake and stomp to the rhythms of their ancestors. They dance about their homeland, and they dance about their future.
Please come attend this extraordinary film just released in April 2008 which won the academy award nominee for the best documentary feature for the Sundance Film Festival. Also note that this extraordinary piece of work won 16 other awards from different festivals around the world.
