Hiya Guys...

wow - chris - what a set up - quite some gear... I do hope you were also in matching Lycra Outfit as you paddled out !!!!

Can I suggest a paddle to Fahal island on thursday morning - maybe round the whole thing time permitting.... (29th) don't want you getting sunburt before you put your tux on though Chris...

Ernie - you up for it?
Brett - how about you?

Plan - launch from the bay - 1 round from PDO - access is past the PDORC gates - next beach along.... say - about 9am....

Any takers...

Tony.

I'll have to go and buy a Tux before i can wear one!

If last weeks 3 1/2 hours on the kayak are anything to judge by, it won't be long before i'll be black enough not to need one!! It was bloody hot!
Definitely long sleeves and pants next time!!

Sounds interesting - might be free if i don't have to work. I'll ask Tony this evening if he fancies it too - we're off for an hours paddle at 5 if anyone wants to join.

Putting in two beaches east of the crowne plaza. (Before SAF beach)

Sit on tops get 'em wet!!

Looks like this is on....

The plan so far seems to be 10am on the water... starting point is going to be the beach along from PDO... see map below....

Don't forget your sun tan cream, water and food....

Who's up for it ?!?!??

Tony.

I'm definitely in.

I'll probably put in at my normal place and paddle round to meet you.

Anyone else who wants to meet at this put-in is welcome. The beach is very secluded and gets almost zero traffic - only local residents use it and very rarely in my experience. The road to it is a dead end and the cars are safe there. Also it's well protected for get-outs if the weather picks up. (plus it's easy for where I keep my yak! Very Happy )

I thought I'd better give some directions to the Qrum put in - although the map is pretty straightforward.

Drive up and round past the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
On that road you go over 4 speed bumps - turn next left.
You immediately cross another speed bump and the road is angling downhill.
Follow it all the way to the flat at the bottom.
There's a large gravel carpark on the left adjacent to the beach.

I usually back my car right onto the sand - it's only 20 feet into the water from there.
