We invite beginners and experienced hikers to participate on walks in Wadi Mistal:
A) W24b will be shorter and therefore also hikers with less experience are welcome.
B) W25 – W24a is longer and more exposed, experienced hikers only,

*Walk overview of A and B:*

Eastern Jabel Ahkdar – W24b *Wakan – Hadesh:
a roundtrip from beautiful terraces in Wakan up to the Sayq plateau rim with wonderful views of the Gubrah Bowl ( W25), then down through rock balconies to Hadesh ( W24a) and further on via Al Qoorah back to Wakan ( W24b).

*Start (Meeting Point):* at Wakan village 08:00 or at Athaiba Shell Petrol station 06:00
*Start Time: 8:15 hrs from Wakan,
There is a plan to camp the night before at a small Bustan with a Falaj in the Wadi, if you want to join mention it on the signing sheet.

*How to get to Wakan Village (approx 2hrs drive from Muscat & 4WD is recommended)

From Muscat follow coastal highway in northern direction to Seeb and beyond in the direction of Sohar. Take Barka roundabout, left in direction of Nakhl and follow in the direction of Rustaq. The left turnoff to Wadi Mistal is clearly signposted some 47 km from the coastal roundabout and about 15 km from Nakhl. The graded roads heads approximately south at all times. It enters the mountains through a narrow limestone gorge, winding around big boulders. Almost suddenly the scenery opens up into the wide Gubrah bowl; at all sides surrounded by steep limestone cliffs. Follow the graded road always in southern direction until you get to a junction signposted with Hadash (left) and Wakan (right). Both tracks are steep and require low gear and careful driving.
Transport between villages: We will try to leave the cars at the respective ends of the walks, to be discussed after arrival at location.

*Walking times:*
A) W24b 3 – 4 hrs
app: 3km
Altitude: around 1500m
*Grade 2*
B) W25 – W24b 8-10 hrs
app. 12km
